This activity goes well when combined with other Arctic or North pole activities. It is a great way to get kids thinking about what they will need to bring with them in very cold temperatures. Supplies
Prep I created the “Suitcases” for the kids by folding a large piece of construction paper in half, then adding a rounded handle I cut from scrapes. I then printed the Free Arctic Adventure Supplies Sheet and glued it into the “suitcase”.
Activity Explain to the kids that you are going on an amazing adventure, you will be going to the arctic. Ask if anyone knows where the arctic is located. Explain that it is the region at the northernmost part of the earth. Or the top. Continue to tell them that the land within the arctic has lots of snow and ice and that it is very cold most of the year.
Hand out a suitcase to each child and ask them to color the clothes they will take with them to the arctic. Explain that it is important to pack light but also to make sure they have everything they will need.
Other Locations require different supplies, check out these other Pack Your Suitcase Activities Inserts:
