Objective

The object of this game is to be the first team to successfully make it through an asteroid field. One partner will guide a blindfolded teammate through the asteroid field.  They will travel from one side of the playing area to the other without hitting an “asteroid” or a “black hole”.

How to Run Asteroid Field Races

Gather up as many cones and poly spots that you can. Scatter the supplies around the gym or the playing area.  Split children into teams of two. Blindfold one partner.  Depending on the size of the playing area, you may have two to four groups racing at a time.  Have the blindfolded people stand on one side of the “asteroid field”. The partner who is not blindfolded can not enter the asteroid field, they must remain safely outside of the field of play.

The guider will then tell the blindfolded partner which way to go, when to stop, and if danger is near by.  If the blindfolded person touches a cone or poly spot, even a little, that team is out. If the guider enters the playing field the team is disqualified. The first team to make it across the field is the winner.

After the first race race, blindfold the next group.  Rearrange the asteroids and black holes and go again.

This game is fun to play and funny to watch.  Get kids talking and listening in this fun active group game.
