Leprechaun Punch

Mix together the punch and sprite, then scoop the sherbet into the punch bowl.  Next to the punch post a sign that says:
“Adults be warned this punch is not for you.  If you drink it your feet will turn green, yellow or blue! – The Leprechauns”
Before the kids arrive take a green marker and color your toes.  When the kids arrive let them read the sign. Pour the punch for the kids and take a sip of the punch in front of them.
When they start start laughing tell them that a little sip can’t really turn your feet colors. They will want to see your feet.  Take off your shoe and expose your green toes!

Build A Leprechaun Trap

When I was a kid we built a leprechaun trap every year in grade school.  At the time I knew it was fun. But looking back I can see it was a great STEM activity before STEM was an everyday academic term.   In today’s world, where so many schools and organizations limit holiday events and celebrations this may be the first opportunity for kids to build a leprechaun trap.

Ask kids to build a trap that will catch a leprechaun.  We all know leprechauns love gold, so lure them into a trap with a shiny gold coin.

Before the kids arrive on ‘St. Patricks day collect all the gold from the traps and set off any contraptions rigged to catch the leprechauns.  For an added touch sprinkle gold glitter around the traps.  When the kids arrive, they will be shocked that there traps did not work and that the leprechauns got away with the gold.
