Can you escape the aliens and save the astronauts? This space themed tag game put a new twist on a classic game.

Space Tag Supplies

• Gym space or outdoor area with chalk
• Hula hoops

Space Tag Setup

If you are playing outdoors on a blacktop surface, use chalk to draw a large circle in the middle of the playing area. Place the hula hoops around the gym or playing area (not in the large circle).

Game Play

Select a 2-4 children to be aliens.  Everyone else is an astronaut. The goal of the aliens is to tag all the astronaut.  When an alien tags an astronaut they must go to the alien spaceship (center circle). The only way an astronaut can be saved from the spaceship is for  a free astronaut to and tag them.

When an astronaut gets tired they can make a stop at a space station (the hula hoops).  When a player is in the space station an alien cannot tag them. Only one person can be in a space station at a time.  If an astronaut is in the space station and another astronaut puts one foot into the hula hoop the first astronaut must leave.

The game is over when only a few astronauts remain.
