Astronaut Food Recipes; A Fun Snack Idea

Spread the love

Eat like your in space with these fun and easy astronaut food recipes that are fun to make and eat. Astronauts in space can not eat food like we can on earth.  If an astronaut tries to set down a sandwich the lack of gravity would cause the pieces of the sandwich to  float into the air.

So what do astronauts eat in space?

Astronauts eat foods that are dehydrated or packaged in vacuum sealed bags.  Eat like an astronaut with this snack that is a fun and easy to make.

Make Astronaut Food

Practice measuring and combine the ingredients in a blender and pour into the zipzicle containers. (Zipzicle containers are long slender bags that allow you to create go-gurt like snacks on your own.)  I recommend using a funnel to easily get the liquid snack into the slim bags. When the bags are filled, seal the containers and refrigerate or freeze until ready to serve.

To make these fun pops simply puree two cups of your favorite fruit (Strawberries, blueberries, or melon are all amazing!) with 2 tbsp of honey. Or you can make a more in-depth pop with a variety of flavors. Check out my favorite zipzicle recipes below:
