How to make a Pin Wheel

Start by gathering your supplies. You can cut construction paper to 3×3 squares or use origami paper. I found a fun double sided origami paper on amazon that I love. Once you have your paper start by fold the square piece of paper in half corner to corner.  Unfold the paper and repeat with the opposite corners.  Unfold the paper and there should be a perfect x in the paper.

Next use the ruler and sharpened pencil to measure 2 3/4 inches from the center point on all 4 lines. Then cut along the line from the corner to the 2 ¾ inch mark on all 4 lines

Place the paper flat in front of you.  Notice that each corner has two halves. Pick up the right half of one corner, using the push pin poke a hole about ¼ inch from the point. Repeat with the remaining corners, poking a hole in all 4 right halves.

Using the push pin poke a hole in the center of the square where the two lines intersect.

Pick up one right corner piece and bring it to the center of the square careful not to crease the paper.  Line up the holes from the point of the corner half and the center of the square as best as possible. Repeat with the following corner pieces.

Use the push pin and push it through each point and the center of the square. With the pin holding the paper together, push the pin into the metal eraser part of the unsharpened pencil.

Wiggle the paper around the push pin to make the holes slightly larger which will allow it to spin. Give it a blow and test it out!
